Which Curriculum is the program aligned to?

The program is designed to cover skills instead of outcomes, therefore it can be used alongside any curriculum. 

What subjects do you cover?

Math, Fact Fluency, Number sense, reading stories, reading skills, literature, reading skills informational, science, social studies, phonics, letter names, letter sound, phonics blending, phonics spelling, early reading trio, sight words, foundational reading, spelling rules, language and grammar, vocabulary, spelling list, writing workshop, early writing, writing assignments.

Do you offer professional development for teachers/tutors?

You’ll find free PD video’s and webinars when you click on the FQA under the Help at the top if your teachers/admin account. Each subject has its own tutorial and subject material. Continue guidance and assistance is provided to all tutors and teaches as needed. 

What is the GED?

The GED is a high school Grade 12 equivalency credential. In the early 1940’s veterans returning to the United States after World War 2 needed to obtain academic credentials te get civilian jobs and gain access to tertiary education or training. The GED test was developed for this purpose, similar to and adult matric. It has subsequently been written by more than 17 million students in the USA and around the world including South Africa! 

What subjects does the GED test?

The GED test consists of four subjects which you can book to write on different days: 

– Reasoning through Language Arts – 150 minutes ( including a 10-minute break) 

– Mathematical Reasoning – 90 minutes

– Science – 90 minutes

– Social Studies – 90 minutes

 

What is the pass mark on the GED test?

Each test is scored on a scale from 100 to 200 and you must obtain a minimum of 145 for each subject to pass. This means you should at least answer 60- 65% of the questions on each test correctly to pass. You must pass each test to successfully pass the GED overall.
